children's ministry
Our vision is to see kids form a personal realtionship with Jesus.and to have many opportunites to develop their gift. We want to see them become. confident, loving, knowledgable followers of Jesus who natuarally will want to share their faith with others.
All our childrens ministry programs are staffed with workers who have completed police checks and have had an interview before being placed in a position of caring for and teaching children. Additionally, we have a sign in/out and out policy in place for all childrens programs.
Sunday Mornings
Kids Rock, our childrens program during our Sunday morning service, happens every Sunday during our 9:30am service at Calvin Christian School [directions]. Our infant nursery is available during both services.
infant nursery [new born - 18 months]
Babies are welcomed each Sunday morning into our infant nursery after 9:20am at any time through out the morning. They are cared for in a safe, loving environment. We hope that parents or caregivers of these little ones can go to the worship service knowing they are well cared for. Through singing songs and reading stories they will have their first introduction to church and we will affirm how much Jesus loves them.
toddler nursery [18 - 30 months]
Toddlers are welcomed each sunday morning into our toddler nursery at 9:20am or any time through out the morning. They will be loved and cared for in a safe, loving environment. We will be introducing some very simple Bible teaching through circle time, story time, a simple craft time, and intentional play. We hope toddlers will leave this area knowing how much Jesus loves them and that Chruch on the Rock cares for them deeply. We hope too that parents can go to the worship service knowing their children are well cared for.
early years [2 1/2 - 4 years old (or JK)]
Children are welcomed into their area from 9:20am on. Through story telling, intentional play time, small group time, singing, video, and art and hands on crafts we will teach them about Jesus. We want kids in early years to leave this area knowing that God loves them and made them, gave His Son to be their Saviour and forever friend and that COTR cares deeply for them and their families.
Seekers and Finders [SK through to grade 5]
These children go to church with family and friends and are dismissed early in the service to their area. Through small group time, large group time with story telling, singing video, hands on crafts that relate to Bible teaching, games and much prayer and love we will teach them about the Bible and Jesus. We want kids to leave this area knowing that God loves them, that God gave Jesus to be their saviour and forever friend, to know they have a place to belong and be cared for, and to want to make the good choices that God teaches us in the Bible.
11:15 am Service [new born - 3 years]
Child care is provide for infants and children up to 3 years of age during the 11:15 am service. They are cared for in a safe, loving environment. Our summer camps are offered on a donation basis, and ALL children are welcomed between Sk and grade 5. See you next summer for games, crafts, great kids worship and super fun adventures exploring the Bible with drama, video, and art and sooo much fun. Busing is provided to our camps in pre determined designated areas on the West Mountain.
